More interest than ever in early season games is being displayed by football fans, according to, the statistics revealed yesterday by C. F. Getchell '83, ticket manager of the H. A. A. "All records for first game attendance are sure to be broken today," stated Mr. Getchell. "From 25,000 to 27,000 people are expected to attend."
Last year, a comparatively small attendance was recorded at the opening game. A scant 7000 people viewed the contest. The nearest approach to this year's anticipated attendance was the crowd of two years ago, which witnessed the Crimson's opening contest with the University of Virginia eleven. Almost 23,000 people attended the encounter
Mr. Getchell stated that the Harvard Athletic Association books have practically all been sold out, while the season tickets, which are primarily for men outside the college, are selling rapidly.
