CRIMSON BOOTERS TRIAL LORD JEFFS

The University Soccer men were downed by Amherst in Saturday's game by the score of 5 to 1.

The game was notable for a lack of team-play, caused largely by a brisk breeze that accelerated the progress of the ball in an eccentric fashion. The Crimson players seemed tired from their train journey and made no concerted effort to repulse Amherst's individual rushes. The aiming of shots by the Lord Jeffs was of a brilliant nature. Wilson, outside right for Amherst, sank penalty 30-yard penalty kick in the Crimson net, convincing score of 5-1.

The single goal for the University was made by L. T. Driggs '28, late in the second half on a clever-corner shot. Driggs and McKinnon were the outstanding players for Harvard. Jones of Amherst scored three times during the game on last running kicks.

The results of the Second team game with Bridgewater Normal School on Soldiers Field were more encouraging.

The Seconds triumphed 2-1 in a fast and hard game, F. K. Arnold '29, and E. W. Parks '27, tallied for the Crimson scrubs. The Seconds had good team-work and bombarded the Bridgewater goalie consistently throughout the two 45-minute periods. UNIVERSITY  AMHERST Thomas g.  g. Bragdon Crooks r.f.b.  r.f.b.
