The Aviation Course at M. I. T. will open this evening with a preliminary recruiting lecture at 7 o'clock. The lecture will be illustrated, and will be followed next week by the first lecture of the series on the theory of flight.

The course has been divided into six parts. The theory of flight will be followed in order by lectures on "Aviation of Introduction", "Scouting", "Aircraft Instruments", "Aerology", and "Practical Flying", with three or four lectures to each division.

The lectures will continue through April, with recesses for midyear examinations and the spring vacation. The last will be held on April 29. Examinations will then be conducted and the selection of the students who are eligible for the first summer training period at Squantum will be announced.

During the flight training period the men will be enrolled as second class seamen, and are paid an average stimulation of $84 per month.

The enrollment last year numbered 100, and this year double that figure have been planned for. Twenty-five men were selected for the practical part of the course, and this year that number is also expected to jump.
