FILENE TO TALK ON PEACE AT PHILLIPS BROOKS HOUSE

Mr. E. A. Filene, President of the William Filene's Sons Company, Boston, will speak at Phillips Brooks House Friday, January 15. His subject will be, "American Business and World Peace."

Mr. Filene has just returned from Europe where he has been studying economic and business conditions during the summer and fall. Since 1909 when he was vice-president of the Sixth International Congress of Chambers of Commerce he has been a moving figure in industrial and civic work. He has been vice-chairman of the finance committee of the League to Enforce Peace since 1915. He is the author of numerous articles on business, civics, labor and industrial relations.

He was the donor of the peace prizes in 1924 similar to that awarded by Mr. Bok of Philadelphia. They were awarded for the best plans submitted for achieving and preserving world peace.
