To the Editor of the CRIMSON:

The hick high school spirit has at last appeared at Harvard. Encouraged by the recent activities of Eli freshmen a group of would-be collegiate high school youths gathered on Saturday night and decided to institute Pajama Night at Harvard. We may thank God that at least the attempt was a failure. A few cries of "Let's go fellows", a few regular Harvard cheers for pajamas, and a few college songs were sung, and pajama night failed. Though Yale freshmen are criticised for their youthful absurdities, our Harvard hicks are not even manly enough to break a fence and the heart of an overpowered instructor.

This incident, I think, illustrates a sad truth, that until these Freshman hoodlums have a little of their rustic training beaten out of them, Harvard indifference cannot be attained. Would it not be possible for such bumpkins as the Freshman Pajama Night promoters to go to some college where they can obtain more backing for their boobishness than they can here. Mark Howe '28.
