Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
Coach Spuhn's first 150-pound crew inaugurated the 1925 lightweight rowing season with a length and a half win over the M. I. T. 150-pound eight yesterday afternoon over the Henley distance in the Basin.
The Crimson boat crossed the finish line in seven minutes and five seconds, four seconds ahead of the M. I. T. boat. All of the Crimson oarsmen remained sitting up in the boat, and gave the impression that there was considerable reserve strength left.
Rowing conditions were very unfavorable for racing yesterday, and Coach Spuhn's only comment after the return to Newell expressed his disappointment over the rough water, but reiterated his complete satisfaction with the showing of his charges.
The unsatisfactory weather conditions were reflected by the swamping of both Technology 150-pound shells shortly after the race, and the University Sophomore B boat.
The Technology mishaps came while the Engineers were trying to turn around preparatory to returning to their boathouse. All five Harvard launches were in the vicinity, and attended to the rescue of the M. I. T. oarsmen in the absence of any of their launches.
The swamping of the Sophomore B boat was due directly to the swell from the Patricia, which passed the 1927 boat at a high rate of speed. Coach Stevens supervised the rescue of the oarsmen in this boat.
