YALE LACROSSE TWELVE OVERWHELMS UNIVERSITY

The University lacrosse team crumbled completely before the onslaughts of an unexpectedly powerful Yale twelve at New Haven Saturday and went down to defeat by the overwhelming score of 10 to 1. The Blue team succeeded in scoring almost as many goals against the University in this one encounter as had been scored by all the teams which had previously played the Crimson.

The University twelve started off well, Morrison scoring the first and only Harvard goal one minute and 30 seconds after the start of the game. Half a minute later, however, Friedler of Yale succeeded in getting the ball by Kelsey into the Crimson goal for the first of the Eli points. From then on the Blue took the offense and scored practically at will.

Harvard Team Off Form

Harvard was in a distinct slump from the start of the game and never seemed able to get back into its previous victorious stride. An unfamiliar field which was much springier than the one to which the University twelve was accustomed affected the Crimson's team work, and despite the sterling playing of Reed at second defense and Kelsey at goal they were unsupported by the rest of their teammates and the ball was continually in Harvard territory. Kelsey entered the game with an injured leg and had to be carried from the field after playing the entire game.

While the Blue was trampling on the Crimson University twelve at New Haven the Eli Freshmen duplicated at Soldiers Field by defeating the Harvard 1928 team 8 to 1.
