KOUSSEVITZKY HAS HIGH PRAISE FOR GLEE CLUB

"Harvard has the best trained chorus I have ever heard in any country of the world," declared M. Serge Koussevitzky, Conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, in a statement to the CRIMSON yesterday. "Dr. Davison with his Glee Club and the Choral Society of Radcliffe, has done what countless musicians have only partially succeeded in doing; he has instilled into his singers real feeling for the music they work with.

"The Orfeo Catalan choir at Barcelona," continued M. Koussevitzky, who sails for Europe on the Aquitania today, "is in my belief the only possible superior to Dr. Davison's chorus. It is an organization of superbly trained voices, which has done beautiful work in the district around Barcelona for over 40 years. The effects obtained by Dr. Davison, however, are all the more remarkable because he produces them from a chorus of untrained voices.

"I was delighted to act as guest conductor in the recent performance of the Brahms Requiem, and the experience was a pleasure I shall not easily forget."

60 Men Go to Northampton

The University Glee Club will journey to Northampton today to give its annual joint concert with the Smith College Glee Club. The 60 members of the University organization who will make the trip will be conducted by Dr. A. T. Davison '06 and the Smith singers by Professor Ivan T. Gorohkoff. The soloist for the University Club, singing in Gretchaninov's "Credo", will be J. R. Houghton 2G. The Glee Club has announced the first of the three annual open air concerts for Tuesday evening, May 5. This concert, which will be held at 7 o'clock on the steps of Widener, will be followed by the other two concerts on May 12 and 19.
