FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES TO HOLD BIG SMOKERS NEXT WEEK

Partial plans for the Freshman smoker of May 5 at the Union were announced yesterday. Entertainment will be supplied by Bert Lowe's seven-piece orchestra, conducted in person, and by a double quartet known as the Merrymount Merrymakers. The feature of the entertainment will be the performance of W. S. Wilson '27 and J. H. Wright '25, famed for their dancing in the Basty Pudding show. The list of speakers for the smoker will be announced on Monday.

Announcement of what will probably be a definite program for the Sophomore smoker, which is to be held Thursday evening. May 7, was made last night by L. H. Duggan '27, chairman of the smoker committee. The affair will be held in the dining room of the Union and will begin at seven o'clock.

The principal speaker of the evening will be Charles A. Coolidge Jr. '16, now practicing law in Boston. Coolidge was second marshal of the Senior class while in the University was three years a member of the University football and baseball teams, and graduated cum laude. Among the other speakers will be President Lowell, Dean Bacon, and B. L. Kilgour '37, president of the class.
