SECOND TEAM BEATS ST. JOHN'S

Rogers Gets Good Assortment of Hits While Gehrke Hits Homer

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

St. John's Preparatory School was added to the list of Second team victims yesterday when Coach Lake's nine won a 12 to 5 decision from the schoolboys on the University diamond. The Seconds were outhit, 12 to 10, but their flawless fielding game and the quartet of errors contributed by the visitors kept the Crimson team in the lead throughout.

Rogers was the heavy hitter of the afternoon, netting a single, a double and a triple. Puffer, working on the mound for seven innings, kept the visitors' hits well scattered. Gehrke replaced him, allowing three hits and one run in the last two innings, and adding three runs to the Crimson total by a home run with two men on the bases.
