SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA TO GIVE FIFTH OF SANDERS CONCERTS
Program Featured by Two Pieces Never Before Given in Cambridge
In Sanders Theatre at 8 o'clock tonight Serge Koussevitzky will lead the Boston Symphony Orchestra in its fifth Cambridge performance of the season.
The program, which contains but three numbers, offers two pieces never played before in Cambridge. The intermezzo from "Die Drei Pintos" by Weber is known in Boston from its performance at Symphony Hall this month. Moussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" was performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra in November.
Mr. Koussevitzky holds the only score of the matter piece in America. It is orchestrated by Ravel, one of the new school of French composers.
The program follows:
Weber-Mahler: intermezzo from "Die Drei Pintos."
Brahms' Symphony No. 3 in F-major, Opus 90.
Moussorgsky: "Pictures at an Exhibition" arranged for orchestra by M. Ravell
