The Reverend Leyton Richards, prominent pacifist and clergyman of Birmingham, England, will speak before the Harvard Liberal Club at a luncheon today in the Clubhouse at 1.30 o'clock. The meeting will be open to all members of the University. Dr. Richards will also speak at the Phillips Brooks House on Thursday evening under the auspices of the St. Paul's Society.
Is Speaking From Many Pulpits
Dr. Richards is making a three months tour of the United States in the interests of better international understanding and good will. In his tour, Dr. Richards, who occupies the pulpit of the Carr's Lane Church, Birmingham, will speak from many of the most famous pulpits of the United States on Sundays, and during the week will devote his time to preaching the gospel of world peace to various clubs, schools, and societies throughout the country.
On Thursday evening in Peabody Hall at the Phillips Brooks House, Dr. Richards will speak on behalf of the Fellowship of Youth for Peace, an organization which grew out of the Student Volunteer Convention at Indianapolis a year ago last December. At this conference, which 3,000 college students from all parts of the country attended, it was decided that the youth of America should organize in a fellowship for peace which would co-operate with similar movements in England.
