Funeral services for Arthur Beane '11, who died in New York last Sunday, will be held today at 4.15 o'clock in Appleton Chapel. The Reverend Raymond Calkins. D. D. '90, will officiate.

Acting Dean G. H. Chase '96, yesterday paid tribute to Mr. Beane for his many services to the University as follows.

"Most Harvard graduates of years think of Arthur Beane especially in connection with the Phillips Brooks House, but many will remember how very wide his laterests were and how much he did for individuals in many sorts of relations. When the Freshman Dormitories were started, he was one of those most interested in them and one who, by constant visiting of individuals, helped to give new members of the University community their first ideas of what Harvard means and what life here is all about. This interest in the individual was one of the outstanding features of his character and one that lies at the basis of much of his work."
