That the Athletic Association has definitely given up its plans for installing a Finnish bath in the new wing of the Soldiers Field Locker Building, was made known at the H. A. A. last night. The contractor and men in charge of the new addition have been doubtful for some time as to the practicability of the scheme and have decided, temporarily at least, to leave the proposed bath out of the plans.
When asked to comment on the change, last night, Major Moore stated that the type of bath which has been proposed s too much of an experiment to warrant the expenditure of the amount of money that would be required. "We know of one in this part of the country", he said, "who knows enough about the proper construction of these baths to undertake the building of one. Besides, the baths are built on such as antiquated' principle that it does not seem a feasible proposition. Perhaps later we may be able to arrange for some more modern appliance for the same purpose.
