W. L. Tibbetts '26 will race Lloyd Hahn, who recently shattered Nurmi's mile record, in the American Legion Games at the East Armory on Monday evening.
Tibbetts has been entered in the Legion Mile. This event will be the feature of an evening of track and field events. In addition to Hahn, Tibbetts will face Joie Ray and a strong field of stars from all over the country.
The other University entry in one of the big races of the evening is E. C. Haggerty '27, who will run in the Gaston 600-yard race. His chief opponent in this event will be Walter Mulvihill of Holy Cross, national indoor 600-yard champion. Haggerty's record all season has been such as to warrant strong hopes of his emerging a winner against Mulvihill on Monday.
Coach Farrell is also sending in 12 other men to compete in the dashes, hurdles and the N. E. A. A. U. 1000-yard run. In order to gain further experience a majority of the team is being held back for next Saturday's Triangular Meet with Cornell and Dartmouth which will provide the first conclusive test of the season for the team as a whole.
