THREE PRIZE COMPETITIONS BEGIN

But Tuesday Is Closing Date for Wade and Boylston Prize Contest

The opening of three prize competitions is announced today, two of which are the Susan Anthony Potter Prizes. The first of these consists of an award of $75 for the best essay on a subject dealing with the Spanish Literature of the Golden Age, and the second is a prize of $100 and a prize of $50 for the best thesis dealing with any subject in the field of Comparative Literature approved by the Chairman of the Department. The third competition is for the John Osborne Sargent Prize of $100, and will be awarded for the best metrical translation of the Second Episode of Horace.

All three competitions are open to undergraduates and will close on April 1. Next Tuesday will be the closing day for the Lee Wade and Boylston prize competitions for Elocution.
