The University fencing team opened its season successfully Saturday by defeating Bowdoin six matches to three.
The Crimson team clearly showed its superiority, despite the loss of three matches. Captain Durham was the best man on the floor, but both Carillo and Finney showed to good advantage in their first match.
Perkins was the best of the Bowdoin foilsmen. His left handed style bothered the University men considerably, resulting in two of the three Bowdoin victories.
The result showed that the University is well equipped for the League matches.
