The Freshman Foils Tournament held Monday afternoon in the Hemenway Salle d'Armes brought to light the most promising Freshman material that has appeared in years. The tournament lasted two hours with very heated competition. Most of the men were totally inexperienced but a few had previously fenced on prep-school teams. Coach J. L. Danguy selected as the preliminary 1929 team the following men: D. F. Edgar, R. H. Enrlich, S. L. Galland, C. B. H. Hollister, C. McK. Norton, G. H. Umbsen, R. H. Weatherhead and C. C. Woolley. Two of these men will probably be dropped, at least temporarily, before the January Tournament with which Coach Danguy will fill the vacancies left in his team by probation.
