Complete ignorance of the number of accidents which have recently occurred at the corner of Plympton and Mt. Auburn Streets near the Lampoon Building was expressed last night by the police in a statement to a CRIMSON reporter.
Last night a taxi turned over beside the Lampoon Building. People living near the corner express the belief that not less than one accident a day is the average. On Sunday as many as four or five automobile mishaps are common, it is stated.
As a possible means of cutting down the number of accidents people near by have suggested everything from setting up a silent policeman to tearing down the Lampoon Building. As yet no action has been taken by the city authorities.
