How Cambridge’s Political Power Brokers Shape the 2025 Election
Mayor Edward W. Quinn of Cambridge was reelected for the fourth time yesterday. He defeated his only opponent, Councillor Ralph W. Robart, by the small margin of 3000 votes.
Mayor Quinn was given the hardest battle of his career. The fight made by Robart on the issue of the incompetence and dishonesty of City Treasurer Lehan nearly caused his defeat. Robart, who is only 32 years old, has been in politics only two years, whereas Quinn is now starting his ninth year in the Mayoral chair.
Malcolm E. Nichols '99 was leading the Boston mayoralty race at a late hour last night. He had an insecure margin over his nearest opponents, Glynn and O'Neil. Thomas C. O'Brien '08, the only Harvard graduate except Nichols among the ten candidates, was trailing.
Senator Walker won handily from his opponents in the New York mayoral race.
