MEETING TODAY WILL RING UP CURTAIN ON 1929 BASKETBALL

Ten Games Scheduled for Freshman Quintet This Winter

Candidates for the 1929 basketball team will hold their first meeting at 4.15 o'clock this afternoon in the Freshman Gymnasium.

Coach A. W. Samborski '25, captain of last year's University five that defeated Yale, will address the candidates. Football players who intend to try for places on the basketball team will sign up today, but will not be called out for active practice for another week.

Candidates for the post of manager of the quintet will report at 7.30 o'clock tonight in Thayer 31. Their competition will last eight weeks, and a manager and an assistant manager, each to win numerals, will be appointed.

The 1929 basketball schedule is as follows: January 9, Tilton; 16, Worcester Academy at Worcester; 20, St. George's; 23, Cushing; February 6, Andover; 13, Choate; 23, Brown 1929 at Providence; 27, Exeter at Exeter; March 6, M. I. T. 1929; 13, Yale 1929 at New Haven.
