Today at 3 o'clock the University soccer team will meet the Springfield College eleven on Soldiers' Field. At the same time, the Freshmen soccer aggregation will take on St. George's at Newport.
Two injuries in the Princeton game have forced Coach White to shift his line-up. L. C. Rubin '26 is laid up with a knee injury that will keep him out until the Yale game. His place in the University outer defense will be taken by A. F. Parrott '28, Freshman captain of a year ago. W. R. Gherardi '28 is out for the season, and the fleet wing's position will be filled by N. R. Danielian '28.
Springfield last year beat the University booters, 1--0, and this year Springfield is again of championship calibre. They are undefeated to date, their most recent win being registered at the expense of Yale last Saturday, 2--0. Captain Fowler, Braum, and Nestle kept up a steady bombardment that allowed the Blue team only three shots at the Spring-field cage.
At 12 o'clock the 1929 outfit will entrain for Newport to open St. George's season. As the-schoolboy soccer season does not start until the end of the gridiron season, the Newport booters are an uncertain quantity, but may push the green Freshman team.
