SOPHOMORES WIN CLASS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Sophomore class football team won the 1925 interclass gridiron championship when it defeated the Seniors yesterday, 6 to 0, on Soldier's Field.

The 1928 victory marked the climax of the class football series, the first to be held at the University in many years. By their victory the Sophomores win the trophy recently offered by Dudley Clark '03, which goes to the championship class eleven each year.

The Sophomores won yesterday, 6 to 0, a touchdown by Stephen Van Rensselaer '28 providing the winning margin. It was the third victory that 1928 has chalked up. Earlier in the season the titlists trounced the Freshmen, 15 to 6, and captured a hard fought game from the Juniors, 7 to 0.

The Freshmen, beaten by the Sophomores but victorious over 1926 by a single touchdown, attained the position of runner-up in the race, while the Juniors and Seniors brought up the rear. These two teams battled to a scoreless tie nearly a month ago.

Class football was revived early in October by Coach J. L. Knox '98, under whose auspices the series was held.
