Another light workout was prescribed yesterday for the University football squad. No scrimmage was held, nor is there any likelihood that there will be more than a short session this afternoon.
Coach Knox spent a busy afternoon in preparing the black-shirted team for its opening game with St. John's Prep, scheduled for 4 o'clock today. The school team is reported as possessing a formidable offense, and has already overwhelmed the Tufts Seconds.
With the University squad were Chauncey, Sophomore back, who only discarded his crutches two days ago, and Maher, back after a two weeks' lay-off. Neither of these men will be available for tomorrow's game against Middlebury, but they both will probably see action against Holy Cross on October 17.
