Paintings at Fogg on Exhibition

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Two interesting paintings of the Spanish School are now on exhibition at the Fogg Art Museum. One, a Madonna and Saints with a kneeling Donor is a work of the XV-XVI Century Castillian School. The other is a Saint Dominick by Domenico Theotocopuli, better known as El Greco, who lived from about 1548 to 1625.

The representation of the Saint is a very characteristic work of this singularly individual master, well illustrating his dramatic intensity and fervour, his restlessness and mysticism.

The paintings are lent by John Nicholas Brown '22 and will remain at the Museum for about a month.
