NOMINEES NAMES FOR FRESHMAN COMMITTEES

Names of the nominees for positions on the Freshman Dormitory Committees were announced last night by the Student Council Committee on Freshman Affairs.

Eight men were nominated from each of the major dormitories, while four candidates were named from Little Hall, Shephard Hall and the men not living in the dormitories.

Big Halls Get Three Men Each

Three men from Gore, Standish, and Smith Halls, respectively, will be elected a week from next Tuesday. One candidate from each of the other three groups will be elected.

The candidates from Little Hall will be included on the Gore ballot, the Shephard Hall representatives will be a voted on by Standish residents as well, and the Smith committee will include a member from the non-resident group.

Ballot Calls for Four Votes

Each Freshman is expected to vote for four men; thus a man living in Gore Hall will vote for three Gore resident and one man from Little Hall, and conversely the Little Hall student will vote for three Gore residents as well as the representatives of his own dormitory.

W. I. Nichols '26, chairman of the Committee on the Freshman Affairs, said last night: "In voting for members of the Dormitory Committees, Freshmen should remember that the qualities most desirable are energy, initiative, and organizing ability. The duties will consist of assisting in organizing the first 1929 Smoker, which will be held the night before the Yale Freshman football game, and directing the subsequent activities of the Freshman dormitories until the class election is held shortly after midyears."

Additional names can be added to the list of candidates to the list of candidates if a petition signed by 35 names is handed in at the Presidents office in the Crimson Building before six o'clock on Wednesday, November 4.
