BAILEY INFORMS STUDENTS ON PROCEDURE IN ILLNESS

Medical Adviser Issues Statement for Information of Those Who Do Not Know What to Do When III

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The following article was written especially for the Crimson by Dr. M. H. Bailey, Medical Advisor, in order to inform students who are not familiar with the proper procedure to take in case of illness:

Students confined to their rooms by illness may send word to the Medical Adviser's office, 5 Wadsworth House, or telephone University 7600, between 8:30 and 5:30 o'clock. After 5:30 o'clock, also on Saturday afternoons, Sundays or Holidays, telephone Dr. P. H. Means at Back Bay 10100, or Dr. M. H. Bailey at University 10720, or the Stillman Infirmary at University 7047.

Patients will be seen in the order that messages are received, with the exception that any urgent call will be made as soon as possible. Students whose illnesses are not serious enough to prevent their going out should go to the Medical Advisor's office, Wadsworth 5, between 8:30 and 9:30 o'clock and 4:30 to 5:30 o'clock. Outside of these office hours the Medical Adviser is occupied at the Infirmary and in calling on patients too ill to come to the office.

Any rash or eruption or persistent abdominal pain should be reported at once. The earlier the detection of contagious or other serious illness, the greater the protection to the individual and his associates.

These privileges and supervision are provided by the University for the benefit and protection of the student community.
