Gordon Wins Way to Semi-Finals

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first casualty among the favorites in the University tennis tournament came yesterday when L. B. Gordon '27 pulled his match with G. H. Perkins '26 out of the fire after dropping the first set and trailing for a few games in the second. This was the first meeting of the seeded players, and by his victory, Gordon is the first player to reach the semi-final round.

The Gordon-Perkins match was the closest of the tournament to date. Neither player held a material advantage in strokes or power, but Gordon was the steadier and was able to concentrate his strength on the vital points.
