Of the 200 inexperienced men now rowing in the boat houses on the machines, 60 will take to the water this afternoon in the Leviathan for the first time. Record numbers of both experienced and inexperienced men have kept coaches and managers busy at the Newell boathouse during the past week.
227 Freshmen on River
Freshman oarsmen number 227, including those who signed up for single sculling as well as thase who applied for rowing in crews. About 175 men, upper classmen and Freshmen, have been on the water in regular attendance so far. The rest, who are now working under Coach Haines on the machines, will venture out on the river a few at a time, beginning next Monday.

Five Veterans in First Boat
Six members of last year's University eight have returned to College, and five are on Coach Stevens' first boat. G. D. Krumbhaar '26, who has rowed bow for two years on the second crew, was expected to succeed Captain Keelley in that post on the University eight, but will be lost to rowing after midyears, at which time he will take his degree.
Two other crews on the University squad include most of last year's first two Freshman eights. They are rowing as follows:
