Twenty additional candidates yesterday reported to Coaches Mitchell and Davidson for fall baseball practice. Prominent among these were W. W. Knowlton '26, veteran of both Princeton games last year; J. P. chase '28, of Coach Davidson's 1928 team, and G. F Cozzens Jr., outfielder on the same team.
Coach Mitchell again sent his men through a long batting session, followed by infield and outfield practice. As soon as the condition of the squad permits, Coach Mitchell plans a series of games, starting probably on Friday. The squad will be reduced by successive cuts to a size permitting more thorough instruction in the fundamentals of the game.
The return of R. H. Booth Jr. '27, star moundsman of the Freshman team, who was ineligible last year, relieves the pitching problem caused by the graduation last June of Spalding, Toulmin, and Herrmann.
