ALLEN APPOINTED LECTURER IN SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Richard Day Allen, director of research and guidance for the public schools of Providence, who has taught for several years in the University Summer School, has been appointed lecturer on vocational guidance in the Graduate School of Education.

While Dr. Arthur F. Whittem '02 is on leave of absence, Dr. Alfred C. Hanford, assistant professor of government, and a tutor and director of the Summer School, will be acting director of University Extension and acting dean of Special Students.

John Roger Wallace '26, of Arlington, has been awarded a Harvard Club of Cleveland scholarship. A Buckley scholarship has been awarded to Lester King '27, of Cambridge.
