DEAN BRIGGS ENDORSES RADCLIFFE ICE CARNIVAL

Is for Benefit of Radcliffe Endowment Fund--To Be Featured by Hockey Game and Fancy Skating

By "l. B. R. briggs."

In a letter to the CRIMSON yesterday Dean L. B. R. Briggs '75 gave hearty endorsement to the Radcliffe Ice Carnival which will be held at the Boston Arena next Thursday evening. Dean Briggs was president of Radcliffe for 20 years.

The carnival, which is being arranged by the Radcliffe Club of Boston for the benefit of the Radcliffe endowment fund, will be featured by a hockey game between graduates of Harvard and Dartmouth. N. W. Niles '09 and his partner, Mrs. Blanchard, will give exhibitions of fancy skating between periods of this contest, and other skating features will also be introduced.

Dean Briggs praised the cause for which the carnival is being given and also the program itself. The text of his letter is as follows:

"To the Editor of the CRIMSON:

"May I call your readers' attention to the game of hockey and the exhibition of skating at the Arena on Thursday evening, January 15. Graduates of Harvard meet graduates of Dartmouth, with star players in each team. In the carnival between the periods of the game there will be fancy skating by well known amateurs, among them Mrs. Blanchard and Mr. Niles, pair-skating champions of the United States.

"The entertainment is given to help the Radcliffe Club of Boston in fulfilling its pledge to the Radcliffe endowment fund. The cause is good; and so are both parts of the programme.
