Observatory to be Open Five Nights

During the remainder of the year the astronomical observatory at the University will be opened to the public for five evenings.

On each of the five nights there will be a talk by an astronomical authority of the University, and afterwards, if the weather permits, the visitors will be allowed to see the heavens through the large telescopes.

On October 21, the first open night, Professor S. I. Bailey, will speak on "The Stars and the Nebulae of the Milky Way". On November 3 Miss C. H. Payne will talk on "Stellar Chemistry". On November 19 Dr. W. J. Luyten will speak on "The Naked Eye Stars." Miss A. J. Cannon will tell how to classify the stars on December 5, and on December 18 Professor E. S. King will speak on "The Coming Total Eclipse of the Sun".

The laboratory will be open from 7.30 to 9 P. M. on each of these mornings, and admission to the meeting will be by ticket only, which may be obtained free of charge by writing to the Harvard College Observatory, Concord Avenue, Cambridge.
