Over three times as many Freshmen as last year escaped English A by passing the anticipatory examination held in the fall, it was announced at Warren House last night. Only 19 received an "E" this year out of the 89 men who took the examination, while there were 49 "E's" last year among 70 candidates.

There are at present 832 students in the class of 1928 enrolled in the prescribed English course, it was also announced, as compared with the 904 men who took it last year.
