HARVARD OARSMEN ARRIVE AT RED TOP QUARTERS

YALE CONTINGENT ALSO ARRIVES AT GALES FERRY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A general movement of college crews upon Red Top or Poughkeepsie began last week, when the Washington crew left Seattle for the Hudson, and continued yesterday when the University and Yale rowing contingents arrived in New London.

Coach Stevens' and Coach Shaw's oarsmen are now installed at Red Top and will commence rowing this afternoon. The Eli crews are as satisfactorily settled at Gales Ferry. Both contingents look forward to 18 days of stiff work before the great day of June 20.

The crews which will participate in Poughkeepsie's regatta on June 17 will not reach Budson waters for a few days, Washington and Columbia eights will probably commence rowing Wednesday, while Cornell, Syracuse, and Pennsylvania are not expected to decamp from home waters before the week-end. The Columbia and Washington crews can get only 13 days of practice on the Hudson while the other three will get scarcely a week.

Quarters Are Renovated

Much improved quarters met the crews on their arrival at Red Top yesterday afternoon at 5.45 o'clock. The building has been completely renovated, and hard wood floors and electric lights installed. Soon after the men reached the camp, there was a general meeting at which Captain Henry and second assistant manager Ladd spoke. Ladd announced an innovation which will make the general appearance of the camp much more striking this year--the wearing of white uniforms by oarsmen, managers, and waiters alike.

When the second university eight follows yesterday's delegation to Red Top, Coaches Stevens and Shaw will have four shells on the water.

The first university crew: stroke, Winthrop; 7, Hobson; 6, Adie; 5, Gates; 4, Weymer; 3, Captain Henry; 2, Mumford; bow, Kelley; cox., Burnham.

The second university crew: stroke, Gale; 7, J. P. Hubbard; 6, Macomber; 5, Johnson; 4, Darlington; 3, Barton; 2, Hoover; bow, Righter; cox., Heard

The Freshman crew: stroke, Rice; 7, Barry; 6, Browning; 5, Captain Platt; 4, Locke; 3, Shurtloff; 2, Farnham; bow, Pierce; cox., Travis.

The combination crew will be composed of Leavitt, Krumbhaar, Canning. Iselin, and the Freshmen, Gates, Scudder, Bowles, and Whitman, and Ely will cox.
