New York, May 7.--The Harvard polo team defeated Virginia Military Institute 11 to 0 in its first round match of the outdoor Intercollegiates, played this afternoon at Fort Hamilton, Long Island.

The southern polo outfit proved no match for the hard riding Crimson combination, which displayed more individual feats of brilliancy, coupled with excellent team play than at any other time this season. Captain G. E. Kent '25 was the shining light in the Crimson's attack.
