A final effort will be made by officers of the Freshman Class, and members of the Finance Committee today to guise, approximately $1500 when members of a Committee will be stationed on the first floor of Sever Hall throughout the morning to receive contributions from the Freshman class. Blank checks will be provided, and those men who may have forgotten to bring money today, will be expected to sign pledges naming the time when their subscription will be paid.
Letters have been sent to about 200 men, the majority living outside the dormitories, who according to the records have not subscribed, urging them to bring their contributions today. Cards were also distributed throughout the dormitories, requesting men, even though they have subscribed before, to give whatever they are able today to help make up this amount.
The present drive has been necessitated because of the unusually poor response to the appeal made some weeks ago during the progress of the Finance competition. Only $2500 was realized at that time, and a budget prepared for expenses during the four years, calls for an expenditure of $4000. The Committee anticipates a general support to this appeal for the Class Fund.
The following representatives of the Freshman Class have been charged with the collection today:
9 to 10, C. D. Coady, Harrison Musgrave, R. K. Straus, L. Y. Ward, J. W. Tufts. 10 to 11, L. F. Daley, R. F. O'Neil, J. L. Prescott, H. W. Foote, R. S. Coolidge. 11 to 12, J. R. Burke, G. P. Sturgis, H. B. Jackson, R. T. Flood, R. A. Magowan.
