8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
The University's championship class crew, Sophomore A, stroked by H. R. Clalq '26, will finish its season as a class crew this afternoon at New Haven, when it will race the championship class crew of Yale over a two mile course. Coach Brown's Sophomore combination is one of the best class crews that has rowed on the Charles in many years and after their showing at Derby today and when Coach Stevens commences the reorganization of the second University crew next week, many of these sophomores may be found in the head coach's squad.
A second crew reached New Haven yesterday from Cambridge. Coach H. H. Haines' 150-pound Freshman crew accompanied the class crew and had a work-out on Lake Housatonic yesterday afternoon. This crew, stroked by Rollins, who is also captain, advances excellent claims for victory against their Eli rivals. They have frequently shown up to good advantage when rowing with Coach Newell's 150-pound crew which defeated both Yale and Princeton last week.
The line-up of the two University crews follow:
Sophomore A Crew.--Stroke, Gale; 7, Captain Hubbard; 6, Macomber; 5, Leavitt; 4, Darlington; 3, Barton; 2, Tilt; bow, Krumbhaar; cox., Thorndike.
Freshman 150-Pound Eight.--Stroke, Captain Rollins; 7, Perkins; 6, Potter; 5, Holmes; 4, Coolidge; 3, Ellsley; 2, Sturtevant, bow, Ogden; cox., Wadsworth.
