The Harvard seconds hit in a timely fashion yesterday at Soldiers Field and defeated Wentworth Institute 7 to 3. Nash pitched well enough to earn a shutout, but two costly outfield errors led to three alien scores. The batting features were a homer to left center by Keene and a double by Field that bounced off the tennis-court screen in right center. Chase-contributed a pretty catch of a line drive to left.

A muff by Amsden paved the way for two Wentworth scores in the first inning, but Harvard came right back with four tallies on a hit by Rice a pass to Keene, a safe bunt by Field, and singles by Maher and Amsden. Brown immediately settled down and pitched good ball, allowing but two more hits in the six innings he worked, Field's double in the third and Keene's homer in the fifth, each of which produced a run. Thoran pitched the last two innings and his wildness cost him one run.

Cotter's three base muff of a long fly gave Wentworth a score in the eighth, and the visitors filled the bases in the ninth, but failed to tally,
