SENIOR EIGHT WINS CLASS RACE FROM JUNIORS

Both University crews and Coach Shaw's Freshman eights registered shifts in their line-up yesterday afternoon. Mumford, who replaced Canning as second University crew stroke early this week, exchanged seats with Hamilton, who has stroked the first shell for several weeks. Hamilton went in at Mumford's old position at second crew stroke. Coach Stevens said last night that he would not change this line-up until after today.

Coach Shaw made one shift in the Red and White crews. Barry was promoted to seat seven in the Red eight, Captain Platt going to position five. He replaced Shurtleff, who took Barry's old position.

Nobles Wins in Regatta

The chief event in the Invitation Regatta was the half-length victory of Noble and Greenough's four-oared crew over Choate, which won the school race at New Haven over Culyer Academy recently. Choate, however, did not tally second yesterday, for the Choate cox fouled the Rindge Tech crew, which was accorded second honors. The time over the three-quarters mile course was four minutes flat.

In the second four-oared school race, Noble and Greenough also won, this time by two and one-half lengths. Rindge reached the mark second, while Browne and Nichols trailed in third.

The Senior crew won the class race in the regatta yesterday by edging out the Junior A's. The Sophomore A crew paced the other boats and showed its superiority by reaching the distance first, but had been disqualified for this race because of its being entered against Yale tomorrow.
