Coach Newell sends his B 150-pound boat into the second event of the regatta, the race of the light boats of Harvard, Penn, and M. I. T. This shell, stroked by Dudley Merrill '26, won the right to represent the University in the event when they defeated the rival A crew last Thursday by one length over the Henly distance.
Only one change has been made in this crew in some time, and that last Wednesday evening, when R. C. Roebling 2E.S. became ill with the grippe and will be out of rowing for some time, F. H. Kennard Jr, '24 was put in Roebling's position at number two.
In weighing in yesterday, the total weight of the Crimson oarsmen was 1188 pounds with an average of 148; Tech's was 1189, average 149; and Penn's was 1190, average 149. Tech has course number one, Harvard, two, and Penn, three.
The line-up of the University 150-pound crew: stroke, Merrill; 7, R. Blaney; 6, Walgren; 5, J. D. W. Morrill; 4, Jenney; 3, Collins; 2, Kennard; bow, Ames; cox., Beer.
