Displaying an improved coordination in its attack, and a defense that was quite impregnable, the University lacrosse team defeated the Freshmen Saturday afternoon 5 to 0 in a well played game for one so early in the season.
The freshmen were excellent defensively, being very effective in the middle of the field, and successfully disorganizing the University attack on several occasions. In the attack the Freshmen were woefully weak however, but Coach Herbert attributes this to their inexperience, and confidently expects these defects to be remedied in the near future.
In T. B. Crane '25, Coach Herbert has one of the best lacrosse prospects to be developed in the University in recent years. He was an important factor in the attack at all times, scoring twice, and being directly responsible for a third score. During his Freshman year Crane played goal guard, but since he has been transferred to the forward line his play has been particularly briliant.
