A crushing defeat at the hands of Andover was the result of the initial Freshman track meet. A remarkably well-balanced team, fast on the track and strong in the field events, proved too strong for the Freshmen in a great majority of the events.

In the 440-yard run H. A. Secrist '27 won first place with a time of 54 seconds, and J. S. Malick '27 third in the mile run F. C. Haggerty '27 took the lead at the third lap and held it to the end, winning the race by 10 yards in 4 minutes 39 4-5 seconds. First honors in the high jump were divided between D. A. Moyer '27 and Franklin Hollis '27 at 5 feet 4 inches. The fourth first place to be earned by Harvard was won by R.L. Kilgeur Jr. '27 with a throw of 140 feet 9 inches in the hammer.
