PHILLIPS BROOK SHOUSE GETS 1239 ARTICLES OF CLOTHING

Annual Drive Also Produces One Bed Spread

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual spring drive of the Phillips Brooks House Association for old clothing, magazines, and books, which was carried on the week before vacation, netted 1239 articles of clothing, 175 books, and two tons of magazines. These articles will be sent in the Student Friendship Committee, for which the University collected more money than any other college in the country last fall. One box of clothing, however, will be sent to the Utica Normal School, Utica, Mississippi.

The books and magazines, as has been customary in the past, will go to the Merchant Marine.

Shirts, of which 215 were collected top the list in numbers for any single item of wearing apparel. 200 neckties and 150 collars came next in order. The next article of clothing is 137 pairs of shoes, followed by 130 undergarments, 95 trousers, 80 coats and vests, and 40 overcoats. Among the other articles received were raincoats, suits, socks, scarfs, bath robes, rubbers, and one bed spread.
