The Freshman baseball season will begin at 3 o'clock this afternoon when the 1927 nine invades Middlesex. Weather has impeded Coach Davidson's work all spring and yesterday he worked his men out on the Freshman diamond for the first time this year. The Middlesex team has lost most of last year's regulars but outdoor practice has been possible for some time and report has it that, the schoolboy outfit is nearly as strong as last year's.

Practice yesterday and Thursday has helped Coach Davidson to choose his team, which will probably start this afternoon as follows: Bailey, l.f.; Bennett, c.f.; Zarakov, s.s.; Ellison, 1b.; Hamlen, 3b.; Gross, 2b.; Scott, r.l.; Tobin, c., Robinson, Phelps or Booth, p. This line-up with a few possible changes will hold when the squad leaves for the spring trip on Wednesday.

Commencing on Wednesday the 1927 team will meet Pomfret, Loomis, Hotchiss and Choate on successive days. The list of men who are going in as follows: pitchers, Phelps, Gates, Clifford, Barnum, Robinson, Booth and Andrews; catchers, Duchin, Leaver and Tobin; infielders, Flood, Hamlen, Gross, Howard, Zarakov and Ellison outfielders Scott; Bailey and Bennett.
