PRACTICE GAME MAY BE BASEBALL PROGRAM TODAY

"If we took our pitchers outside in this weather, we would be running more risk of sore arms in an afternoon, than we do in a month of work in the cage", said Coach Mitchell yesterday, explaining why he kept the pitchers of the University baseball squad from outdoor work. The whole squad has been practicing regularly on the Freshman field except the pitchers, and the game with Boston University on Saturday may be the first real tryout for the pitching staff.

Every indication, however, points to a practice game this afternoon, if the weather predictions hold true. Coach Slattery is very anxious to see the sets of infields that he has been using lately in action. The first team infield this afternoon will probably be composed of: Campbell, McGlone, Jenkins and Slayton, with Field, Bullard Keene and Mann as the alternate combination. These two groups have been working together lately and are the likely choice for this afternoon's practice game, unless Hill and Hammond who have been practicing for several days now, are in condition to break into the line-up.

Meanwhile, Boston University has been engaging in a similar struggle with the cold weather. Yesterday, however, their whole squad worked out at Fenway Parl; and Dr. George Gaw, the coach of Princeton's hockey team last winter, is pointing the team for Saturday's game. With seven veterans of last year's team, Dr. Gaw has material with which to avenge the University's victories over his Princeton hockey players last winter.
