ST. FRANCIS GIVES CRIMSON BIG SCARE

In a mediocre exhibition of basket-ball, the Crimson five just managed to eke out a 31-30 victory over the St. Francis quintet from New York City. The team work and close guarding which had characterized the University play in the Dartmouth game was noticeably lacking, and the team must take a decided brace if a victory is to be gained over Yale Tuesday night in New Haven.

Crimson Leads At Half Time

At half time the Crimson led 19-13 through two baskets by Rauh and one by Gordon in the closing minutes. Beginning the second half a determined spurt by the St. Francis five soon brought them within striking distance, although the Crimson did not relinquish the lead. Long baskets of the sensational variety featured the St. Francis attack during this period, Keating scoring five goals. With one minute to play the score stood 31-28 in favor of the University. Another goal by Kenny completed the scoring for the evening.

Keating Does Excellent Work

In Keating St. Francis has one of the best forwards seen on Hemenway this year. Four of his five baskets in the second half were from the middle of the floor and his general all around play was excellent. His six field goals last night brought his total for the season to 106, which is believed to be a record.
