The Rev. John Roach Straton, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in New York, has accepted an invitation from the Harvard Christian Association to speak at the University on March 25, on the subject of "Evolution versus God," officers of the association announced last night.
Dr. Straton has figured prominently in the recent controversy of Fundamentalism versus Modernism, advocating a literal, rather than a modern, interpretation of the Bible. He disbelieves in evolution in the Darwinian sense.
Speaking on the other side of the question, the Reverend Percy Stickney Grant '83, rector of the Church of the Ascension in New York, will give a talk at the Union next Tuesday afternoon at 4.30 o'clock on "Religion's Opportunity Today."
