WANT STUDENTS TO HAVE CONTROL OVER COLLEGES

THINK STUDENTS SHOULD JOIN LABOR MOVEMENT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

New Haven, Conn., March 2.--At a conference on the "American Students" held here this weekend under the auspices of the Yale Liberal Club, it was advocated that there be complete student control of colleges and that students should come in closer contact with the laboring classes.

R. N. Baldwin Harvard '05 opened the conference by suggesting complete student control, so that the students would be even more powerful than either the trustees or the faculty.

One feature of the conference was its strong sympathy with the labor movement and the working classes. In order to study more carefully the present economic system it advanced the theory that undergraduates should join labor ranks, at least for a short period.

The material result of the conference was that plans were set in motion for a student colony in Pennsylvania next summer to discuss the economic system.
