Tonight in Squadron A Armory on 96th Street in New York City the University polo team will meet Yale in the semi-final round of the National Intercollegiate Indoor Polo tournament.
Yale has been exceptionally successful since taking up polo, winning the intercollegiate indoor and outdoor championships last year. This year the Blue suffered but one reverse, and that at the hands of the formidable Pennsylvania Military College Trio. In an earlier encounter the Eli team defeated the University horsemen by the narrow margin of a half point, the result of a foul. During that game the University played sensationally, and according to Colonel Browning and Captain Clark, deserved a much better fate. Yale has an experienced team, however, which has played together during, the past two years, and the Elis will have the added advantage of their own ponies in the game tonight.
Having drawn a bye in the first round, tonight's contest will be the semi-final in the upper bracket, the winner meeting Princeton in the finals Saturday night. The Tigers have furnished the sensation of the present tournament by defeating Pennsylvania Military College Saturday night, a team which had been conceded a place in the finals.
Each team will be able to present its first string line-up in tonight's contest, although Kent is suffering from an injury received in a practice game in New York last Saturday. Since he is the Crimson's high scorer and most experienced polo player, his loss will be a severe handicap if he is forced to leave the game.
